Late Summer Snowshoe Hare

After a long day of backpacking in Glacier National Park, we got to camp and moved to set up our tents. I found a flat patch of ground and unrolled my tent, but I didn't notice this snowshoe hare until I had almost stepped on it! Its summer coat blended in really well with the foliage. I ended up moving to a different site to give it some space, but not before taking a few pictures from a safe distance since it didn't want to move. I couldn't help myself, it was so cute! It couldn't have been more than a year old.
