Lower Lewis River Fall Leaves

Lewis River is a small recreation area just east of Mount Saint Helens. The road getting there is quite bumpy; you should take it slow if you visit. Unless, of course, you're trying to get to the falls before the sun comes over the river valley and makes your waterfall photos too bright. Oops! In my defense, the forecast predicted cloudy weather that day, and only upon turning off the main road did I see that it would be...sunny. I went on a clear October day, but if you go between May and September you'll need a pass. This hike is really nice though, and the waterfalls are very pretty!
